Columbia County Tourist Development Council Hosts The Strongman Champions League

A very special event is coming to Lake City-Columbia County this fall! 

The Strongman Champions League (SCL) is excited to announce that an international SCL competition, the first SCL competition to be held in Florida and only the second in the United States, will take place at Olustee Park in downtown Lake City, Florida, on Saturday, October 10, 2026. The event will feature 14 professional international strongman athletes, a 74,000-pound fire truck pull, special guests, and spectacular feats of strength. 

Presented in collaboration with the Columbia County Sports Commission and local Columbia County and Lake City partners, the event will welcome professional strongman athletes from around the world for a full day of competition, entertainment, and family-friendly activities. Admission will be free and spectators of all ages are invited to attend.

The Strongman Champions League is the largest global professional strongman organization that presents up to 16 international competitions each year. For nearly two decades, SCL has brought the world’s leading strength athletes to destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas.

The complete athlete lineup will be announced as the event approaches, with competitors set to travel to Florida from around the world.
