STRONGMAN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE COMING TO LAKE CITY! 

A very special event is coming to Lake City-Columbia County this fall! 

The Strongman Champions League (SCL) is excited to announce that an international SCL competition, the first SCL competition to be held in Florida and only the second in the United States, will take place at Olustee Park in downtown Lake City, Florida, on Saturday, October 10, 2026. The event will feature 14 professional international strongman athletes, a 74,000-pound fire truck pull, special guests, and spectacular feats of strength. 

Presented in collaboration with the Columbia County Sports Commission and local Columbia County and Lake City partners, the event will welcome professional strongman athletes from around the world for a full day of competition, entertainment, and family-friendly activities. Admission will be free and spectators of all ages are invited to attend.

The Strongman Champions League is the largest global professional strongman organization that presents up to 16 international competitions each year. For nearly two decades, SCL has brought the world’s leading strength athletes to destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas.

The complete athlete lineup will be announced as the event approaches, with competitors set to travel to Florida from around the world.

Fire Truck Pull

In cooperation with the Lake City Fire Department, one of the featured challenges will see the strongman athletes attempt to pull a large tower ladder truck weighing approximately 74,000 pounds.

The fire truck pull will give spectators the opportunity to witness an extraordinary display of strength while also highlighting the Lake City Fire Department and its important role within the local community.

Additional competition events will be revealed as October 10th approaches. The challenges are being developed to test the athletes’ power, endurance, speed, strength, and determination while providing an exciting visual experience for spectators.
 

Building on a Successful U.S. Debut

The Lake City competition follows the successful debut of Strongman Champions League in the United States in 2025.

The inaugural SCL USA event in Sandusky and Toledo, Ohio received tremendous support from the surrounding community, with nearly 7,000 spectators attending throughout the main competition day to watch international athletes compete in a series of major strength challenges.

The event helped demonstrate the growing popularity of professional strongman in the United States and the ability of an SCL competition to bring together local residents, traveling sports fans, families, businesses, community organizations, and international media.

The upcoming Lake City competition is also expected to become part of SCL’s international media programming. Spectators attending the event may even have the opportunity to spot themselves in the episode featuring this year’s Florida competition!
