About

The Pregnancy Care Center(PCC) has been in operation as a 501-C3 since June 14, 1985, and serves Columbia, Hamilton, Lafayette, Suwannee, Taylor and Union counties in North Florida. The Center’s goal is to develop and administer programs and provide information designed to assist women in confronting and dealing with the physical, emotional, economic, and social issues associated with pregnancy. Since many pregnancies are unplanned, women in the region are often desperate for the assistance provided by the PCC. All services are free and offered in brick-and-mortar facilities in Lake City and Live Oak and in a mobile unit which makes regularly scheduled visits to the outlying communities of Branford, Lake Butler, Jasper, Mayo and Perry. All centers are governed by a single Board of Directors.

The Pregnancy Care Center provides the following free services for residents of six counties in North Florida:

  • Free pregnancy tests and ultrasounds
  • A variety of resources such as baby clothes, blankets, diapers, wipes, nursery furniture, and strollers
  • Bright Course and Authentic Manhood educational curriculum featuring classes on labor and delivery, pregnancy, infant care and development, nutrition, household organization, budgeting, money management, and other life management skills
  • Peer counseling for issues facing parents and caregivers who are pregnant or bringing up young children
  • Post-abortion counseling for women recovering from previous abortions
  • Referrals to other community agencies, services, and ministries
  • Bi-weekly meetings and mentoring sessions for men who want to learn and find support to fulfill their roles as husbands and fathers.
