The business began with the founding of Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery by Mr. Theo L. Guerry in 1964, followed by the opening of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home in 2003 by his son, Mr. Ted L. Guerry, Sr. (1938–2019), and his wife, Mrs. Amy B. Guerry.
