ClearSky Health, a leading provider of rehabilitative healthcare services, has broken ground on a new state-of-the-art 36-bed medical rehabilitation hospital in Lake City, Fla. The facility, located at 198 SW Real Terrace, will offer specialized rehabilitative care for patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, spinal injuries, hip fractures, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and other complex medical conditions.

The hospital, ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Lake City, will serve the community by treating more than 650 patients annually and creating approximately 100 new jobs, contributing to the region’s economic growth.

“Patients who need continued care after an acute hospital stay will find specialized rehabilitative services right here in Lake City,” says Darby Brockette, CEO of ClearSky Health. “Our goal is to provide intensive rehabilitation with 15 hours a week of physical, occupational, and speech therapy, to help patients regain their independence and return to the lives and activities they love as quickly as possible.”

Patients at the hospital will benefit from a highly trained interdisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, rehabilitation nurses, therapists, case managers, respiratory therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals. The hospital’s 45,000-square-foot building will feature all private rooms, a rehabilitative gym equipped with advanced technology, an Activities of Daily Living (ADL) suite to emulate home environments, a dining room with an in-house chef, and a therapeutic outdoor courtyard for patient recovery.

Joey O’Hern, Executive Director of the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the significance of the hospital for the community. “This partnership with ClearSky Health demonstrates our commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare for Columbia County residents,” he says. “By offering advanced rehabilitation services locally, families no longer need to travel far for quality care, easing both the financial and emotional burdens associated with seeking treatment outside our area.”

O’Hern also highlighted the positive economic impact the hospital will bring. “In addition to enhancing healthcare access, we’re thrilled about the 100 new jobs this facility will bring to Lake City,” he adds. “It’s an incredible opportunity for growth in our community.”

As ClearSky Health continues to expand its reach, Brockette expressed the company’s dedication to the community. “Lake City has welcomed us with open arms, and we are committed to being an active part of this wonderful community,” Brockette says. “Our focus is on providing patient-centered care that helps individuals regain their quality of life.”

ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Lake City is expected to open in Fall 2025.
