JOB DESCRIPTION

This position performs skilled work in the operation of truck mounted U.L.V. spray equipment. Employees in this class are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment used for adulticiding in Columbia County.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

High School education or G.E.D. preferred and one year experience in vehicle and/or equipment operation; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

PROFESSIONAL LICENSES/MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license required.

SALARY: $15.45 per hour, no benefits. This is part-time seasonal work starting in May and will continue to near the end of October.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Operates U.L.V. spray equipment and drives a pickup truck. Visually identifies hazards to safe operation or problem areas and reports or corrects them. Work may be performed without direct supervision.

NON -ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs related work as required. Performs light maintenance on equipment such as checking and adding fuel, oil, water and air; change tires, clean and washes vehicles or equipment. WORK ENVIRONMENT

Responsible for the satisfactory and safe operation of equipment under all types of weather conditions and usually during night (P.M.) hours. Ability to perform physical work related to the position. Work may be performed without direct supervision. Subjected to insects, noxious fumes, and constant noise.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS/DEMANDS

Will use both hands simultaneously while standing or sitting; frequent sitting and occasional lifting of ten (10) to fifty (50) pounds. Position requires oral communications and also, involves adequate eyesight and hearing to safely perform the activities.
