Marketing & Events Manager

The Marketing & Events Manager will assist with the planning of various Chamber events while working to market the overall organization. This person must deliver excellent customer service, be a self-starter, a good listener, and able to work collaboratively.

Pay: 19.25/hr (40 hours a week) and commission. 

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate directly with the Executive Director and/or members of Senior Level Chamber Staff with the planning and coordination of Chamber events throughout the year.
  • Assist with the coordination of various vendors, venues, etc. as pertaining to Chamber events and programs.
  • Ensure post event communications to event sponsors, partners, participants and Board of Directors.
  • Assist with the creation of various Chamber marketing pieces.
  • Assist with the management of various digital platforms for the Chamber of Commerce.
  • Assist in the coordination of Chamber programs, including but not limited to: Better Business Series, Lunch & Leadership, Chamber Leads, etc.
  • Keep up-to-date member engagement records in member database for events and programs.
  • Attend community functions important to the Chamber and your goals.
  • Foster and strengthen relationships with Chamber members and/or community partners.

Other Job Duties:

  • Have a good rapport with Chamber staff, membership and Board of Directors and be familiar with all products, services, projects, and programs.
  • Participate as an active member of the Chamber staff, which is a positive and dynamic team dedicated to exceeding customer expectations.
  • Assist with financial aspects of the organization as needed.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports as required by the Chamber management.
  • Attend and be actively involved in appropriate Chamber of Commerce events, programs and organizations including weekly staff meetings.
  • Provide administrative support to Chamber management when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

You Have

  • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, general business, or related field of study; or at minimum - equivalent experience.
  • Previous chamber, non-profit or community development experience preferred.
  • Experience in brand management.
  • Experience dealing directly with clients and/or the public.
  • Experience in the creation and implementation of marketing plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed assigned objectives.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Professional demeanor and presentation of self with an outgoing personality.
  • Excellent presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent face-to-face and telephone communication skills.
  • Strong demonstrated customer relationship and selling skills.
  • Strong computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Office, financial reporting tools and sales management database systems. Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud a plus.
  • The desire to actively support and participate in Chamber functions.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment while fostering the values of member relations.
