Finance Specialist I, II or Accountant
This position is responsible for various aspects of accounting and analysis functions including compliance with financial directive and procedures.
This position, in the Office of Finance, is responsible for various aspects of accounting and analysis functions including compliance with financial directive and procedures in conformance with Governing Board goals, priorities, and plans ensuring financial compliance with Florida Statutes, Governmental Accounting Standards, Governing Board Finance Directive, and District procedures. Based on the level of experience the incumbent will have some level of responsibility for the following duties:
- Accounts Payable.
- Truth and Millage (TRIM) process.
- Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILT) process.
- Development, review, and implementation of finance and accounting procedures.
- Ensure proper accounting through regular analysis and reconciliation.
- Investment income allocation
- Monthly financial reporting and analysis
- Quarterly grant review process.
- Accounts Receivable
- Annual Budget
- Prepare schedules and provide supporting documentation for auditors.
- Cash management and payroll functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Finance Specialist – PG 110
- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of finance or accounting experience with an emphasis in accounts payable and cash management.
- Professional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
- Payroll and tax reporting experience preferred.
- Valid drivers’ license.
Finance Specialist II – PG 112
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of finance or accounting experience with an emphasis in accounts payable and cash management.
- Professional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
- Payroll and tax reporting experience preferred.
- Valid drivers’ license.
Accountant – PG 113
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting.
- Governmental accounting and grants management experience preferred.
- Professional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
- Valid drivers’ license.

Base Salary:
Finance Specialist - PG 110 ($42,494.40 - $63,689.60);
Finance Specialist II – PG 112 ($45,801.60 - $76,336.00);
Accountant – PG 113 ($49,462.40 - $82,451.20)
