Prescription Drug Take Back hosted by the Lake City Police Department
Saturday, April 25, 2026 (10:00 AM - 2:00 PM) (EDT)
Description
The Lake City Police Department participates in the DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible way for community members to dispose of unused or expired medications. Proper disposal helps prevent prescription drug misuse and keeps medications from being accidentally ingested by children or pets.
During the event, residents can bring expired, unwanted, or unused prescription medications and other pharmaceutical substances for safe disposal by law enforcement. No appointments are required, and the service is free and anonymous.
Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is typically held twice a year and provides an important opportunity to remove potentially dangerous medications from homes while raising awareness about the risks of prescription drug abuse.
The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.
This initiative will provide an opportunity for the public to voluntarily surrender expired, unwanted, unused pharmaceutical controlled substances, and other medications to Law Enforcement.
