FLORIDA BY THE NUMBERS Florida's Consumer Sentiment On the Rise, Jobs Continue to Recover, and Unemployment Rate Continues Downward The April edition of Florida By The Numbers is now available, featuring an analysis of Florida's latest employment numbers, job statistics, and the state of Florida's economy. In March 2022, Florida's consumer sentiment rose 1.97 points from the previous month to 69.7, while U.S. consumer sentiment dropped to a new decade low. Additionally, 49% of Florida voters believe that Florida is headed in the right direction. In other news, more than 9.2 million Floridians were employed in March, and the unemployment rate continues to decline, now at 3.2%. The number of jobs lost in Florida from February to April 2020 has been fully recovered, with an additional 156,000 new jobs created. However, the workforce crisis continues, with about 170,000 more open jobs than people looking for work.
