Monday, February 1, 2021 Please see the press information below from the Columbia County Health Department regarding the local registration system that we are using locally for vaccination sign-ups. On January 29, 2021, the State of Florida implemented a statewide COVID-19 vaccine registration system. The Department of Health in Columbia and Hamilton Counties have both had a Covid-19 vaccination request registration system in place since December 29, 2020, to serve Columbia/Hamilton residents. Any resident signing up in the new state system will be served, but only after we are able to serve residents that have signed up in the Columbia/Hamilton vaccination request system. We encourage residents that have signed up in our system NOT TO REGISTER AGAIN in the state system as this only creates duplication issues and does not speed up the vaccine process. In both Columbia and Hamilton, we can distribute the vaccine quickly when there is supply on hand. We are all dealing with a Global pandemic and vaccine supply is limited based on the manufacturing process, not on our ability to provide the vaccine to individuals when the vaccine is provided to our health department. As of today, there are 9,114 residents, 65 and older, registered in Columbia with 3,178 of those registered residents already receiving their 1st COVID-19 vaccine. Next week, 1,200 residents are scheduled to receive their 2nd vaccine. Currently, there are 5,936 residents registered in our system to serve before any individual signing up in the new state system will be served. We continue to encourage residents to sign up at http://columbia.floridahealth.gov/?fbclid=IwAR019hjS1l8zH7ELVn12eHp3G9zAYzl2qmExBUstHBrm0znCoibZob9TbNg and selecting the Columbia Resident Age 65 and over Moderna Vaccine Request Form link. As of today, there are 1,537 residents, 65 and older, registered in Hamilton with 998 of those registered residents already receiving their 1st COVID-19 vaccine. Next week, 400 residents are scheduled to receive their 2nd vaccine. Currently, there are 539 residents registered in our system to serve before any individual signing up in the new state system will be served. We continue to encourage residents to sign up at http://hamilton.floridahealth.gov and selecting the Hamilton Resident Age 65 and over Moderna Vaccine Request Form link.
