Valentine's Day celebrates loving others and being loved by others. Maybe it's time to change things up a bit and celebrate loving yourself. Be your own Valentine. February is Heart Health Month. Approximately 1,202,000 Floridians have coronary heart disease according to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. While not all heart disease is preventable, living a heart healthy lifestyle is always the right choice. Heart-healthy living involves understanding your risk, making choices, and taking steps to reduce your chances of getting heart disease, including coronary heart disease, the most common type. Coronary and other types of heart disease cause heart attacks, but by taking preventive measures, you can lower your risk of developing heart disease and also improve your overall health and well-being.
