In addition to FPL’s new Main Street Recovery Credit Program to support small businesses, eligible low-income residential customers will now receive a $20 monthly bill credit through 2021. The program, which will initially include an estimated 55,000 FPL customers, will be funded exclusively by shareholder contributions from FPL’s parent company, NextEra Energy. These centers support FPL SolarTogether, the nation’s largest community solar program, giving all of our customers the chance to benefit from clean, renewable solar generation. In recent years, FPL has purchased existing coal-fired power plants for the sole purpose of shutting them down – saving customers money and eliminating carbon dioxide emissions – while accelerating its smart, long-term investments in other fuel sources to generate and deliver clean and affordable power to customers.
